Singapura The Musical @ Capitol Theatre | 23May2015

The Musical takes the audience through a journey of love, hope, and new beginnings while exploring the strength of the human spirit during the formative years of Singapore’s history from 1955 to 1965. Though the eyes of ordinary men and women, audiences will witness how hope and youthful determination transcend the struggles of everyday life during this time period as Singaporeans strive towards a better future for themselves and their loved ones. Their passion and drive sees them dreaming, hoping and creating – against all odds – a place where they can truly call Home.

My Review
I would say its a good show. Havin' to watch a musical related to our Singapore history in the newly refurbished Capitol Theatre was really an epic experience. The props that they used in the show were very well incorporated into the show with background flashing images of related scenes through out the musical. Everything was very systematic and well-planned. Have you seen LKY sing on stage before? So here it is.. you can see it on stage with an imitation now!

The show is only available from now till 7 June.. So get your tickets soon if ya wanna watch it! ;)

National School Games 2015 on Super Sports Arena Starhub's Channel!

All the while.. I'm pretty much a sports person. Pretty active in swimming and enjoy playing football with my friends. And at the same time.. I hit the gym at least once a week with my gym buddy so as to tone up my muscles, build strength and achieve a better body shape. And recently.. I mean for the past few years.. I picked up running! When I was in my younger school days.. I HATE Running! Its like so tiring and you have to complete that 2.4km in a certain timing. But few years back when I tried running outside at my estate area.. listening to music at the same time, its so much different as compared to when you have to run under a certain timing. It can be pretty relaxing, helps to de-stress and makes you feel lighter after the run. Well.. you didn't try you wouldn't know!

So well! Being a sporty person.. I'm selected by The Influencer Network to create awareness for the National School Games 2015!

So What is National School Games then?

National School Games is an upcoming sports TV programme that features Singapore's annual inter-school sports competition. It has intensive, heart-pumping moments of Singapore's youth athletics competing for the Championship for various types of sports, which includes tennis, basketball & rugby. National School Games will start airing from 22nd June to mid-August on Starhub's SuperSports Arena.

Last Tuesday.. I was there for one of their games - Basketball - at the Jurong Sports Hall.
It was between Hwa Chong Institution and Nanyang Junior College for the ladies' basketball, and
Hwa Chong Institution and Raffles Junior College for the men's basketball.

It was very entertaining to watch them play and compete against one another, so I'm sure it would definitely be the same on screen on the Super Sports Arena.

So here we have..

Hwa Chong Institution vs. Nanyang JC (Ladies)

Here's a video footage of the match that day!
I felt the 3-pointer shots from the NYJC were really accurate and they got it in most of the time. Thumbs up!

Strategizing their team work.

Supporters from the NYJC cheered pretty loud and impactful along with their flags and balloon stick throughout the match.

So was the cheers from Hwa Chong Junior College.. They were pretty aggressive too!

I quite like the banner they put up.. 爱我
It feels very united and influential.

Hwa Chong Institution vs. Raffles JC (Men's)

So here are the Men's basketball..
Expect to be even fiercer and more exciting!

The RJC supporters.. giving their best cheers for their team!

Well.. I would say the guys were indeed fiercer.. but I felt that the ladies' basketball seemed more exciting. haha.. Not becos I like ladies.. but.. maybe its becos the guys are fiercer they fell on to the floor more times than the ladies and hence it was like watching them keep falling to the ground most of the time. :P Whereas the ladies they were more steady and the shots were nicer.

The 2-pointer shots from the RJC were very accurate..

Strategizing their team work.
"Okie.. Later you go and fake that guy, I go here.. you go there then he go up!"

Here were the trophies and medals laid out nicely on the table.

Who would be the winner for that day?

THE SINGAPORE AIRLINES INTERNATIONAL CUP 17 MAY 2015!

Attended the SIA Cup with my long time buddy Julien Low on 17th May 2015. Sunday. It was an honour able to attend this prestigious event with my buddy, donning our best suits for the evening.

The inaugural Singapore Airlines International Cup (SIA Cup) was held on March 4, 2000, in conjunction with the official opening of the new Singapore Racecourse at Kranji.

With a purse of S$3 million up for grabs, the race, unsurprisingly, attracted some of the best horses from the four corners of the globe. In a finish that will go down on record as one of the most remarkable milestones in Singapore’s horse racing history, the first edition went to a locally-trained, Ouzo. The New Zealand-bred by Oregon did Singapore proud by producing an astounding turn of foot to deny Jim And Tonic victory by a neck.

To this day, Ouzo remains the only locally-trained horse to have captured the SIA Cup. In the subsequent 12 editions (the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak forced the cancellation of the 2003 edition) winners hailing from the four corners of the globe have flashed past the Kranji winning post as the race has kept growing in stature.

In 2001, the race was awarded International Group 1 status and the following year nominated as the third leg of the World Series Racing Championship.

There have been 13 individual winners from nine different countries (Singapore, England, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Australia, Japan, South Africa, France and Hong Kong) adding their names to the honour roll. Among them, Grandera (2002) and Epalo (2004) are the only two SIA Cup winners to have gone on to win the World Champion title under the now defunct World Series Racing Championship series.

After 13 years of trying, Hong Kong finally tasted success in the SIA Cup when Military Attack became the first horse from the former British colony to land the elusive trophy for multiple Hong Kong champion trainer John Moore, who had come agonisingly close on several occasions previously. Suddenly, the floodgates were flung open as one year later, Hong Kong and Moore celebrated back-to-back victories with Dan Excel.

Lets take a look at some of the nice pictures taken at the event.
I shall reveal the winners for the KrisFlyer and SIA Cup (if you still do not know) in the last few pictures.

Watching the horses racing LIVE in action!

they are all indeed very strong and solid..
was quite amazed when my friend told me they can run to about 80km/h
That is like a normal car travelling on an expressway, isn't it? ha..

Well.. Horse butts and jockey butts?

There were a total of 11 races that day.
Race 9 and 10 are the KrisFlyer and SIA Cup respectively.
Before the first big race that is the KrisFlyer Cup.. there were spectacular performances put up to celebrate the once a year inaugural occasion.

Dragon dance.

and Lion Dances.

Stick-walkers.

Here's a glimpse of all the performers out on the pitch.
